Your Lifeline on the Road: What’s Covered?
By activating your benefit for our free roadside assistance program, you unlock a suite of services designed to handle common vehicle troubles. Ready to serve you whenever you need it:
- 24-Hour Emergency Towing Service: Should your vehicle become disabled, whether due to a mechanical failure or an accident, our towing service is at your disposal. The cost of towing your car for up to 15 miles is completely free for you. This service ensures your vehicle can be transported to a trusted repair shop without you incurring an unexpected expense.
- 24-Hour Emergency Road Service: Sometimes, the problem doesn’t require a tow, but rather on-the-spot assistance. This can include common issues like needing a jump-start for a dead battery or help changing a flat tire. Our emergency road service is designed to get you back on your way as quickly and safely as possible.
- 24-Hour Emergency Delivery of Supplies: Running out of fuel, oil, or other essential fluids can bring your journey to an abrupt halt. With your IAM benefit, you can arrange for an emergency delivery of gasoline, oil, or water to your location. While there is a small fee for the supplies themselves, the convenience and safety of this service are invaluable.
- 24-Hour Emergency Battery Service: A dead battery can happen to anyone, at any time. Instead of being stranded, you can call for emergency battery service. A technician will be dispatched to your location to either jump-start your vehicle or, if necessary, advise you on the next steps for battery replacement.
- Lockout Service: Accidentally locking your keys in your car is a frustrating experience. Your roadside assistance benefit includes lockout service to help you regain access to your vehicle without causing damage.
- Auto Rental Reimbursement: In the event of a more significant breakdown or accident that requires your vehicle to be in the shop for an extended period, your plan includes auto rental reimbursement! This helps to minimize the disruption to your daily life by offsetting the cost of a rental car.
Understanding the Costs: Free and Low-Fee Services
We want to ensure there is no confusion about the costs associated with these services. For many common roadside events, the assistance you receive is totally free. Specifically, the cost of towing your vehicle for up to 15 miles, or any other single service that does not exceed the benefit limit of $80, is covered at no charge to you.
For services such as the emergency delivery of gasoline, oil, or the installation of new parts, there will be a small fee associated with the cost of the items themselves.
How to Make Use of Your Benefit
To ensure you can take full advantage of your Roadside Assistance benefit, we recommend the following:
- Activate Your Benefit: Make sure your benefit is active and that you have the 24-hour dispatch number readily available. Store it in your phone and keep a physical copy in your glove compartment.
- Know Your Benefit Info: Once you have activated your Roadside Assistance benefit, please add 800-559-0097 as “Roadside Assistance” as a contact on your mobile phone. This is the number you will have to call when you need roadside assistance.
You will need to provide the following information:
- Your Plan Letter: B
- 6-digit producer code: 106736
- Your ID Number: This should have been sent to you via email from info@memberresources.com after you activated your benefit. If you cannot locate yours, please call our Member Helpline at 646-921-9128 and ask for your roadside ID number.
- Know Your Location: When you call for assistance, be prepared to provide your location as accurately as possible. Look for street signs, mile markers, or major landmarks.
- Describe the Problem: Clearly explain the issue you are experiencing with your vehicle. This will help the dispatcher send the right type of assistance.
- Stay Safe: If you are on a busy road, remain in your vehicle with your hazard lights on until help arrives.
